Check in time for flight to Dire Dewa

Early morning, transfer to airport for flight to Dire Dawa (08:00).  In Dire Dawa, you will be met at the airport and will transfer to the border of Somaliland at Togochaale, passing through the Valley of Marvels on the way.  The Valley of Marvels has wonderful landscapes, famous for its balancing rock formations.  At Togochaale, you will cross the border and be met by your vehicles for Somaliland.  Transfer to Hargeisa

Drive

Early morning, take a trip to visit the rock art found at Las Geel.  After the visit, return to Hargeisa for lunch and then proceed driving to Harar, passing through Babile along the way.  If today is market day, you can stop for a visit.  At night you can visit the Hyena Men who feed the hyenas every night just outside the walls of the city.  You can even give a try at feeding the hyenas – with your mouth!

Flight

Today you will have time to visit the walled city of Harar, with its colorful markets, countless mosques and shrines and unique Harari people and homes.  Sites to visit include: the House of Rimbaud, Ras Tafari’s House, Ras Mekonnen’s Palace, the Harari National Cultural Center, and the tomb of Emir Nur, who built the famous Jugol, as the wall is known locally.  In the afternoon, transfer to Dire Dawa for return flight to Addis Ababa (16:00).
