Day 1 WELCOME TO ETHIOPIA!
ELMI Tour welcomes the group at Bole International Airport.
Transfer to your hotel to leave the luggages (if rooms are available, check in).
A mini city tour: Mercato (the biggest open air market in East Africa), Trinity Cathedral (the magnificent baroque style architecture), Entoto Mountain (highest peak and city view at 3,200m above sea level, and more.
Welcome Dinner at Ethiopian Cultural Restaurant.  Enjoy the music and dance from different parts of the country over traditional food (injera) and honey wine (teji)!

Addis Ababa
Day 2 ADDIS – MEKELE - HAMED ILA
Early morning fly to Mekeke, After meeting the cars start drive into the Danakil Depression.  First stop will be in Berehale, to obtain Afar region permissions, and pick up road guides and scouts.  Picnic lunch in Berehale/on the way before continuing to Hamed Ila.  Overnight camping in Hamed Ila.

Day 3 HAMED ILA – DALLOL- HAMED ILA
After breakfast, go to Dallol, to visit the camel caravans.  Here you will watch and learn how the Afar people extract salt from the salt lake (Lake Asale) for sale in Mekele.  We will also visit the vast sulphurous springs, which give beautiful colors to the landscape.  Finally, take a short hike to visit an old colonial Italian house before returning to Hamed Ila for dinner and overnight camping.

Day 4
HAMED ILA – KURSWAD - ERTA ALE
After breakfast, proceed driving to Erta Ale via Kursuwad.   From Kursuwad, drive 25 km to park the car and have dinner.  Around 6Pm start walk about 12Km to reach to Erta Ale. (Active volcano). You will have spectacular views of the lava lake inside the volcano.  
The camel will bring the camping materials and water.

Day 5 ERTA ALE - HAMED ILA
Early mornig start walk back 12Km to main camp. The breakfast will be ready by the ckook, eat breakfast and start drive to Hamed Ila. Late afternoon visit the camel caravan again.

Day 6 HAMED ILA - MEKELE
After breakfast,  driving back to Mekele. In the afternoon city tour in Mekele, visit the Emperar Yohanes museum.

Day 7 MEKELE - ADDIS
Go on a city tour to visit the rest of the Addis Ababa sites which the group could not visit on the first day.

Transfer to the airport for international flight.
