Addis Ababa
Day 2
Fly to Lalibela, after check in to your hotel visit the first group of the magnificent rock-hewn churches of Lalibela which are carved out of living volcanic tuff with super architectural skill that the world has never seen, yet elsewhere. UNESCO registers these churches as world heritage. Among churches of this group Bete Medahine Alem (house of the redeemer) is the largest with 5 aisles, 72 pillars, vaulted dome and molding decoration. Bete Mariam (house of st. Marry) is the most decorated among the rock hewn churches. After lunch, visit the second group of the rock-hewn churches; Bete Emanuel (house of Emanuel) is architecturally the finest. Bete Giorgis (the house of George) is the finest of all the churches in Lalibela for which reason art historians conclude that this church is carved at the end of the cluster, after the masons have developed their skill to carve the church in such extraordinary perfection.

Fly to Axum (40min).  After hotel check in, visit the swimming pool of the legendary queen of Sheba, the ruin of imperial edifices along with their tombs, the church of St. Marry of Zion where the original Ark of the Covenant is said to be kept secretly, the main stelae park where the huge monolithic stelae are found, and the archeological museum that displays artifacts unearthed archeologically.

After breakfast, transfer to Axsum airport for the flight to Gondar. After check in to Hotel, start the city tour. Gondar, founded by Emperor Fasiledas around 1635, is famous for its many medieval castles and the design and decoration of its churches-in particular, Debre Birhan Selassie represents a masterpiece of unique Ethiopian School of traditional art.
You will also explore the ancient city and its famous sites including: The Royal Enclosure, a walled compound having 6 different castles built from 17th century by different kings who ruled in different times, the pool of King Fasilidas which still serves as a baptismal pool during Ethiopian Epiphany.

Drive to Bahir-Dar(180Km), after check in a hotel,  make a boat trip to the Zeghie peninsula monastery, Ura Kidane Mihret, this was established in the 14th century and well decorated with 17th century mural paintings, rich in manuscripts, royal belongings donated to the monastery and Kibran Gebrael/Entons Iyesus monastery.
afternoon drive to Blue Nile fall.

Morning fly to Addis Ababa and go on a city tour to visit the rest of the Addis Ababa sites which the group could not visit on the first day.
